Log entry: We headed to downtown Fairbanks to see the start of this year's Yukon Quest, a 1000-mile dog-sled race between Fairbanks, Alaska and Whitehorse, Yukon Territory. It was a warm day for mid-February in Fairbanks, and the frozen Chena River was packed with race fans. Television crews were covering the race, and spectators could buy chili and beer, along with the usual souvenirs. Children could take a sled ride for US$5 a pop. As soon as the last team sledded up the Chena River, we started looking for nearby caches, and Chena River Ramble came up first.		 3272.33 miles
